Mozambique:
Global miner Rio Tinto last week suspended coal shipments from north-west Mozambique after RENAMO threatened to disrupt the Sena railway used to move coal to the Indian Ocean.
Madagascar:
On 26 June the International Contact Group for Madagascar (ICG-M) called the Special Electoral Court's (CES) decision allowing the three controversial candidates a "regrettable political decision" and called for its reconstruction with new members to allow the whole process to be credible.
ICG-M called on the National Independent Electoral Commission for the Transition (CENIT), in consultation with the United Nations experts, to set a new date for elections.
